Tijs Michiel Verwest aka Tiesto is a remix genius.  He is a well known DJ, musician and record producer. He is also known as Wild Bunch, Handover Circuit, Roze, Drumfire, Stray Dog, Passenger, Steve Forte Rio, Tom Ace, Da Joker, Paradise in Dubs and Allure.

Tiesto is from Netherlands and plays house, trance, electro house, electronic dance and progressive trance music genre. At an early age Tiesto started his DJ career, he started with school parties and then he worked at various clubs as DJ across Netherlands.

He has been associated with various record labels like Black Hole, Noculan, Basic Beat, XSV Music, Ultra Records, Musical Freedom and Lightning.

He has six studio albums to his credit, in 2001 he released ‘In my Memory’ then in 2004 he released ‘Just Be’ and ‘Parade of the Atheletes’. In 2007 he released ‘Elements of Life’ and in 2009 ‘Kaleidoscope’ was out. His latest studio album in 2011 is ‘Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas’.

Tours

Tiesto has been touring many countries with his brand of music. His first tour was in 2002 called ‘Area2Tour’. His next tour was ‘Just Be: Train Tour’ in 2004 which was followed by ‘Tiesto in Concert: North America Tour 2005’ and ‘Central Eastern European Tour 2005’.

In 2006 he was seen in ‘In Search of Sunrise 5 Asia Tour’. From 2007 to 2008 he performed at ‘Elements of Life World Tour’. He also rocked at ‘In Search of Sunrise: Summer Tour 2008’ and at ‘Kaleidoscope World Tour’ in 2009 to 2010. In US his first DJ Mix album was Summerbreeze and it was well received by his fans.

Tiesto has dated 2 females one of them is a Dutch model Monique and other one is Stacey. He was about to marry Stacey but due to his huge workload he didn’t get time which led Stacey to break her engagement with Tiesto.

To promote HIV/AIDS awareness, Tiesto was selected as global ambassador by Dance4Life foundation in 2006. He helped the foundation to raise funds by recording tracks for them.

Dance4Life song he made for the foundation became a huge hit and was very well received by the global audience and it broke in to various music charts in many countries. This song was in music charts of Germany and UK. It was at no.5 in Belgium and at 6th position in Finland. On Dutch music chart it was at no. 3 for 5 weeks and it remained in top 10 for 11 weeks.

Collaborations

Tiesto in collaboration with fashion designer Giorgio Armani made limited edition Tiesto T-shirt which was sold at Armani Exchange stores. The limited edition T-shirts and ‘A|X Remix’ were distributed with his single ‘Sweet Things’.
Tiesto got huge success when he performed solo in front of huge crowd without any support from any DJ or anyone else. He performed solo sets for 6 hours and the crowd went crazy at his awesome performance. He again did a solo act for ‘Tiesto in Concert’ in a stadium packed with 25000 music fanatics. This concert was a great success and because of it he got instant fame.
