We thought it would be a great idea to post some of what we believe to be the most valuable and entertaining videos that we have come across. There are two things that we want to exhibit here in this page; the first is the live actioning and tutorials on some remix makers (software) and the other is the DJs live in action, who actually do this for a living.
Please take your time to watch all the videos prior to making any decisions on any products, or forming any opinions on any of the DJs.
Eminem – My name is (ACDC Remix)
On the home page of this website where we run through the remixing tutorial, when used an ACDC track as a example. Here, someone has made an awesome mash-up (remix) using a track from this band. Even if your not into Eminem or Rock music at all, you have to appreciate this one.
Personally, I think it is just awesome!
Nickelback – Faraway (Dj solovey electro remix)
Now this is the kind of remix that actually makes the DJ some money. This ultra-poppy soft-rock ballad from America Rockers has been turned into a club or radio hit. The original chords are barely even followed, if at all, so it just goes to show that you do not need to possess any actual understanding of music to remix songs and make it big.
Gangsters Paradise Remix – DUBturbo
This is a great little remix/remake of the classic Coolio track. Anyone who knows the song will highly appreciate the original little breakbeat interlude part which just sounds like it belongs. Really love the sounds on this too, real old-school with that clear modern production sound and quality.
Logic Studio Remix Matisyahu One Day Remix
This is truly a great and unique remix made in Logic Studio that was originally a submission for a contest. I lot of work has gone into this.
I don’t know if it won or not, but heck, it really should have. If you don’t know the original track then have a listen and you will understand what I am talking about. Hats off to you…
Tiƫsto Power Mix (HD VERSION)
I had to throw this up here, whether you like it or not Tiesto is one of the biggest names in dance, and remix production altogether. Hard to believe that he is over forty years old and still entertaining such young crowds.
The biggest point I wanted to make here was the originality of mixing violin with his soft trance tracks. This is not so much about the live music as it is about the original thinking of adding the instrument.
Take an existing track and write a new melody using a completely different instrument sound. This can make it a whole new song, that people will love.
Obviously we have had to limit ourselves here, as there are just to many great videos to choose from. Further videos will e added over time, as great remixes are uncovered.
